Welcome! Hippie skirts and Harleys essentially explains my life. I am the hippie mom who likes to do a lot of things the natural way, and hippie skirts tend to be my favorite wardrobe item. Harleys is pretty self explanatory. My husband and I love to get on the bike and just go. Some people would consider us strange, but we're just us...

Notable Crafty Women
I thought I would share some of my favorite reads. I enjoy these blogs, and have found some fantastic craft ideas. They are mostly sewing, but so helpful!
Today is a Day
Virgin blogger, so beware. I do not believe my life is more spectacular than the next. It is unique though. I find myself ranting, raving, and babbling quite often, so I figured I would add a target for my ramblings. Enter: blog. I might just have a perspective you have not considered, or even cared about. If nothing else, it's therapeutic.
I find myself wishing for more time today. I have all sorts of ambition for creative and useful endeavors, but there are not enough hours in the day. I am staring at my sewing machine (yes, I am one of the few in my generation who can sew) and scrolling through my mental project list. I am also looking out my window at my garden wishing for the frost to go away. I believe that I was born into the wrong generation. Don't get me wrong, I am tech savvy and believe whole-heartedly in being an independent "modern" woman. However, I enjoy being an active traditional mom, sewing, cooking from scratch, gardening, making my own soap/candles/etc. I would have fit quite well in a previous generation. I am not part of a cult or conservative Christian sect. I simply enjoy the old-fashioned way of doing things. My husband and I often talk about buying a large plot of land to become completely self-sufficient. We both enjoy the woods, and shy away from city life. So indulge me if I get overly excited about a new recipe, or a new technique for a do-it-yourself project. I am easily amused.
